	Horseradish (Armoracia Rusticana) is native to South Eastern Europe, but is widely naturalised in Europe, North America and New Zealand. It has entered cultivation relatively recently; less than 2,000 years ago. It was primarily a medicinal plant and did not become popular as a flavouring until late in the sixteenth century.
